2018 Sciences Po exchange student forgets to remove Navigo from wallet
BREAKING: Having returned from her 6-month French exchange in late December, Political Science major Josephine Gibbs today re-affirmed her global citizenship by inadvertently leaving the distinctive Parisian public transport card in her wallet.
The oversight was noted early this morning, when a casual liaison at Two Before Ten saw the student drop the pass at the counter in an attempt to produce the NAB card lodged tightly behind it. Patrons later questioned the “accidental” shower of euro coins that followed.
“Oups, can’t believe that’s still in there, gotta put it somewhere safe so I don’t have to get a new one next time in in the Hexagon.”
Prompted to continue by nobody, Gibbs elaborated on the arduous process through which she had obtained the pass: “Did you know they fine you, like, 60 euro if you don’t attach a photograph? And most of the time the photo booths in the metro don’t even work, it’s such a nightmare.”
“Oh, that’s $90, by the way. Guess my brain’s still in the Eurozone, haha!”
The student is alleged to have later criticized Australia’s performance in four different cuisines, despite having remained in Paris for the entirety of her time at Sciences Po.
“Look, she’s probably entitled to complain about the bread here,” an acquaintance of Gibbs said in an anonymous statement, “but I strongly believe there is a point of diminishing returns on the quality of falafel, and that point comes long before the 20-hour plane journey to L’As de Falafel.”
More to come.
